The Eastern Regional Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Haruna Apau Wiredu has cautioned the youth of the party to desist from the smear campaign against former President John Mahama.
According to him, he will personally launch reprisal attack on some flagbearer hopefuls of the party if they do not desist from the smear campaign.
Mr. Wiredu accused some individual flagbearer hopefuls for attempts to denigrate John Mahama for the party’s defeat during the 2016 election.
The NDC man who was also the 2016 parliamentary candidate for the NDC in New Juaben North said such actions will only deepen the woes of the party hence will be nipped in the bud.
He said anyone with the party at heart must commit resources to the reorganization of the party to build a solid party ahead of 2020 instead of engaging in acts that have the potential to detonate the party.
“We went for an election and lost. Mahama is not the only person in the NDC and so our leaders should stop making him feel bad. Mahama is not the cause of NDC defeat, we all contributed to the defeat.
“It is important that we come together and think of ways to wrestle power from the NPP and stop destroying our former President because he is the only candidate who can save us from the NPP” he said.
