President Nana Akufo-Addo has described the work done so far by the Jean Mensa-led Electoral Commission (EC) as satisfactory.
“I am satisfied with what I have seen so far and I can say you have been the measure of responsibility looking at the work you did in the referendum for the creation of the new regions which went on without a hitch and the Ayawaso by-election though the violence that happened was avoidable,” he said.

President Akufo-Addo made these remarks on Thursday, September 12, 2019, when the EC, led by its chairperson, Mrs Jean Mensa, paid a courtesy call on him at the Jubilee House, as part of series of consultative meetings being held with stakeholders of the electioneering process.
