Some residents of Adomfe in the Asante Akyem South Municipality in the Ashanti region are demanding for justice on behalf of Kofi Amponsah, a man who was allegedly butchered by police personnel on Tuesday.

According to the residents, who say they are unhappy over the interdiction of only three police officers out of the nine personnel believed to have caused Mr Amponsah’s death, the Ghana Police Service must ensure justice prevails in the matter.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, the residents called on the Ghana Police Service to publish the photos of the three personnel interdicted.

“It is not appropriate for the police service to interdict only three officers when nine personnel were involved in brutalising the young man,” a resident said.

Another added: “We will not be satisfied until we see the photos of the said people interdicted and can confirm they were the people who brutalised Amponsah.”

Mr Amponsah passed away on Tuesday after being allegedly manhandled by some police officers with the Konongo Divisional Police during an operation to crackdown on weed dealers in the area.
