Singer Wendy Shay says she can’t comprehend why the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) will put in measures to forbid celebrities from endorsing alcoholic beverages when the drug enforcement entity makes money from same.
The singer has been having some back and forth with the FDA on social media over losing a huge endorsement deal due to a ban imposed by the latter.
I just lost a deal worth 1,000s of dollars with this foreign alcohol company… I didn’t know GH Celebrities can’t advertise for alcoholic beverages according to FDA. Like Seriously? Wendy posted.
She added: “Small food we go chop too u wan take 4rm our mouth. GH celebs wake up!! FDA Lift dat ban!”

But the FDA has replied the actress, saying it has no interest in blocking endorsement deals of celebrities but rather protecting the youth from alcohol abuse.
The FDA urged Wendy Shay to collaborate with them in pushing against alcohol abuse if she wanted to be an ambassador.
But Wendy Shay says she still can’t grasp the explanation because the FDA endorses alcohol by making cash through approving it to be sold but claims to be protecting kids.
According to Wendy Shay, the FDA has been unfair with their decision because if the FDA truly cared about the kids and not the money.
Why approve it in first place? FDA alone wan chop GH wake up, she reiterated in a tweet.
