Kofi Adams, former National Organiser of the NDC

Former National Organiser for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Kofi Adams says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should stop taking praises for things they didn’t do.

According to the politician, things the NPP are boasting of are results of good investments and initiatives by the NDC.

“All the growth we had in the economy in 2017 was driven by the investments made by former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama before leaving office in 2016, that is the benefit the NPP is claiming now.  There was no way the NPP government could have made oil and gas contribute that significant amount of growth in 2017.  As far as oil and gas is concerned we should give credit to Mahama.

“Let’s ask the NPP what investment they made in 2017 concerning oil and gas that contributed to that significant growth in 2017. The Economic Intelligence Unit even predicted that the NPP is likely to win the elections in 2016, but it didn’t matter which party won, 2017 would see massive growth as a result of investments made by NDC,” he recounted.

Speaking as a panel on Adom TV’s morning show Badwam, he questioned why the country had seen drops in the growth of the economy since 2017, if the NPP had been working.

“If NPP says they are so good in policy implementation and initiatives ask them why there was a drop in the growth of the economy in 2018.

“What is happening with the big brains behind the economists NPP claims they have? Instead of using their big brains to be productive they are using them to push people into unproductive places. They have appointed 120 ministers and deputies and appointed close to 1,000 staffers to do absolutely nothing,” he criticised.
