Ghanaian singer, Mugeez is of the view that Grammy, an award presented by The Recording Academy to recognize achievements in the music industry cannot evaluate songs made by African musicians.
He made the assertion a few hours after nominees for 2020 BET Awards were rolled out and no Ghanaian artiste made it to the list.
According to Mugeez, it is inappropriate to allow the board of Grammy to determine or rate music made in Africa.
In his view, African music doesn’t need to be recognized by the Grammy board to validate its uniqueness.
He took to his Instagram to register his assertion which garnered support from many industry players such as Kelvyn Boy, Bosom P-yung and Sister Derby.
