An abandoned school building at Walewale in the West Mamprusi District of the Northern Region is now a death trap

The uncompleted building form part of the GETfund project which was awarded to CHEN Overseas under the supervision of A&Qs consortium Limited.

The said work commenced in 2016 uner the erstwhile John Mahama administration.

The slabs on the first floor of the administration block have caved in whiles some of its walls are broken.

Meanwhile, the Northern Regional National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Coordinator, Alhaji Abdalah Hindu in an interview with Adom News’s Shine Acquah said the work will be seized until further notice.

He further lamented that both the contractor and consultant of the project denied some of the students the chance since they needed to learn some technical construction skills as they graduated to become engineers.

Walewale Technical and Vocational Training Institute was established in 2006 by an Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dubbed Wulugu Trust and was absorbed in 2012 by the former NDC government.
