Founder of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has described the Electoral Commission (EC)’s move to compile a new voters’ register as a complete waste of Ghana’s resources.
Mr Ayariga who made the statement at a press conference in Accra on January 6, 2020 said the EC’s inability to justify the need for a new voters’ register is worrying and indicates their incompetence.

He noted that all opposing political parties on January 28, 2020 will embark on a demonstration to oppose the move.
The new voters’ register estimated to cost GHS 443 million has been met with stiff resistance from various quarters, particularly the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The NDC has described the exercise as needless.
