Late Berekum Chelsea F.C. player Dominic Frimpong, who was killed in a robbery attack, was laid to rest today, April 29, 2026, in Assin Fosu.
Family members, teammates, football officials and supporters gathered to pay their final respects to the 20-year-old forward during a solemn burial ceremony.
The atmosphere was filled with grief as mourners struggled to hold back tears while his mortal remains lay in a casket.
Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II and the Ghana Football Association donated a total of GH₵110,000 to the family of the late footballer.
The Dormaahene donated GH₵100,000, while the GFA contributed GH₵10,000 to support the funeral rites.
Also in attendance to pay their last respects were players and officials from Aduana FC and Berekum Chelsea F.C., among others.
Frimpong died after sustaining gunshot wounds during a highway robbery attack on April 13, 2026, while the team was returning to Berekum following their Ghana Premier League fixture against FC Samartex in Samreboi.
The attack occurred along the Ahyiresu–Kwame Dwumor Sreso road in the Nyinahin District.
The young striker, who was on loan from Aduana FC, has been described by many as a promising talent whose career was just beginning to take shape.
Meanwhile, police investigations into the robbery remain ongoing, with two suspects, including an alleged gang leader, currently in custody.
