Adamus Resources Limited has effectively been banished from the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area.
Traditional leaders have declared that the company is no longer welcome on their land, even if the government reverses its decision.
At the Saa Nyamenle Royal Palace, chiefs and elders gathered to pour libation and invoke their ancestors.

For more than a decade, residents say their lands, water bodies and livelihoods have been under threat. Today, they insist enough is enough.
Awulae Blay IX described the revocation of Adamus Resources Limited’s licence as a sign of freedom. He noted that the government, led by John Dramani Mahama, revoked the company’s licence following findings of illegal operations and environmental destruction.
However, the chiefs stressed that the matter goes beyond policy and is about survival.
The Eastern Nzema Traditional Council is calling for the restoration and protection of their land, while urging the youth not to engage in illegal mining.
