Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, says the appointment of former Attorney General, Martin Amidu is politically suicidal for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him the ruling party in an attempt to witch-hunt appointees of the erstwhile Mahama administration, has fallen into their own trap.

“This guy [Martin Amidu] when he strikes, nobody can stop him. The NPP should be ready, we shall enjoy it in Ghana” he stated.
Special Prosecutor nominee Martin Amidu after a nine-hour vetting has received an overwhelming endorsement from Parliament’s Appointments Committee.
Deputy Majority Whip, Mathew Nyindam who confirmed this to Joy News said it will be inconceivable for anyone to oppose Mr Amidu’s nomination.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem on Wednesday, an elated Koku Anyidoho said his approval is long overdue.
He indicated that, there is no doubt Martin Amidu will do a good job but the NPP will suffer most.
“President Akufo-Addo appointed Martin Amidu to check corrupt appointees. He is tired of the corruption in his government so he wants him [Amidu] to check them”, he scoffed.

The NDC Deputy General Secretary said though many believe the NDC will be the most vilified by the Special Prosecutor; NPP will also a taste of their own medicine.
“The president has made him [Martin Amidu] more powerful than the Attorney General so when he starts taking on the NPP people, who can call him to order”, he quizzed.
This notwithstanding, Koku Anyidoho is convinced Martin Amidu will do a thorough job in the fight against corruption.
