The chief of Adadientem, a village in the Assin North District of the Central Region, where a four-year-old girl was allegedly defiled has denied ever attempting to settle the matter himself.

According to him, he never cleared the suspect of his innocence by the gods of the community.

The mother of a 4-year-old girl is calling for justice.

Distressed Monica Nyarko has accused a chief in the area of obstructing justice as she alleges the chief told her action cannot be taken against the accused.

According to her, the chief told her the community gods say the suspect is innocent.

Madam Nyarko told Joy News’ Maxwell Agbagba at the St Francis-Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu that, her daughter could barely walk due to pain.

The little girl is unable to stand and the pain is taking a toll on her health as she looks drained with bandages of the intravenous therapy still in her hand.

Narrating what happened, Madam Nyarko said she had traveled for a funeral when the incident happened.

But peaking to Joy News’ Richard Kwadwo Nyarko at Assin Adadientem, the chief, though a nephew of the suspect’s father indicated, he did no wrong in the matter contrary to speculations he was trying to suppress the truth.

According to him, the truth of the matter in the case is his preoccupation and not to defend any alleged criminal.

Meanwhile, some opinion leaders whom the reporter spoke to, say they are prepared to hand over the suspect to the investigating authority only if the victim’s parent produced the medical report confirming that the little girl was defiled.

Richard Kwadwo Nyarko however reported that doctors reports shows that the vulva of the girls is moist and looked inflame, no bleeding points no laceration no abrasions were seen.

Dr. Bernard Brew of St Francist Xavier Hospital at Assin Fosu has asked parents to send the girl to see physiologist for support.
