The Black Satellites of Ghana have qualified to the 2019 Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations for Niger after drawing 1-1 with Benin in Cotonou on Sunday.

Head coach, Jimmy Cobblah and his charges beat Benin 3-1 at the Cape Coast stadium last Saturday before holding them to a drawn game away to qualify on a 4-2 aggregate after both legs.

Benin with the away goal advantage decided to sit deep and defend which they did so well in the first half. Once again they took the lead against the Ghanaian side and scored in the 56th minute.

WAFA midfielder, Prosper Ahiabu responded accordingly for the Black Satellites in the 80th minute to seal qualification for his side.

Ghana joins Burkina Faso, Burundi, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and hosts Niger as the teams to qualify for the 8 team tournament in Niger between 24 February – 10 March 2019.
