A budding Pastor of a local spiritual church at Wawase, a community in the Lake District of the Ashanti Region, has fled the community to avoid the wrath of his family members, who are angry with him for allegedly disgracing them.

He faces the crime of declining to be installed chief of the community, a position his family members believe is an affront to their dignity as royals.

Osei Kwame, 33, has, since September last year, fled the community to the anger of his kinsmen. He was nominated by his family to be the Chief, but he declined the offer on the basis of his religion and beliefs, and disappeared.

As a Pastor, Osei Kwame believes accepting to be the chief would go contrary to his religious beliefs, as he is not ready to pour libation, an integral aspect of chieftaincy, for which stance the family has threatened to deal with him.

He is believed to have fled five months ago to avoid the wrath of his family members, a section of which had threatened his life for disgracing them.

Mr. Kwasi Ntim of H/No WA 40, who claims to the father of Osei Kwame, has reported the missing of the young pastor to the Kuntanase police for assistance in tracing their relative.

A police extract issued to Mr. Ntim on February 7, 2017 indicated that Osei Kwame has been missing for the past five months.
