A four-year-old boy has been found dead in his mother’s room at Gomoa Budumburam zone 4 in the Central Region.
The deceased, Yaw Abekah according to reports died after his mother allegedly left him for four days without food or water.
The Environmental health and sanitation officer of Gomoa East, Lawrence Ansah confirmed this to Adom News’s Kofi Adjei Friday.
He indicated that, the boy starved to death after his mother refused to give him food.
Mr. Ansah said, the mother who is mentally retarded prevented people from coming close to her room to assist the boy.
Though cause of the child’s death is not immediately known, Mr. Ansah beleives the negligence of the mad woman is to blame for the unfortunate incident.
Mr Ansah added that, the body of the young boy is decomposing and have alerted the police to intervene.
“The body is rotting and stinking very bad. His eyes have turned rancid and so we need to get him out. We are waiting for the police to arrive to carry the body away for further investigation”.
