The youth of Yilo and Manya Krobo have planned a massive demonstration against the Volta River Authority (VRA) over the non-payment of benefits to resettled communities.

The demonstration will follow a two-week ultimatum given VRA to respond to concerns including the high cost of electricity in an earlier letter.

At a news conference at Kpong in the Eastern Region, the group, United Krobo Foundation said the demonstration could be the biggest ever against the VRA.

In August this year, the group wrote to VRA reminding it of its responsibilities in resettled communities affected by the creation of Akosombo and Kpong Dams.

However, their push has received little attention from VRA.

Public Relations Officer for the group, Teye Kwao Kasimu says they will blame VRA if anything untoward happens during their peaceful demonstration.
