Three health workers standing trial for allegedly stealing more than GH¢500,000 from the Kasoa branch of Amagashie Herbal Clinic are reportedly struggling to meet the GH¢70,000 bail conditions granted by the Ofaakor Circuit Court.

The three employees were arrested by the Central East Regional Police Command after investigations allegedly uncovered a scheme in which duplicate receipt books were created and payments made by patients were diverted from the clinic’s official accounts into unauthorised accounts.

According to the prosecution, the alleged fraudulent activities resulted in financial losses exceeding GH¢500,000.

When the case came before the Ofaakor Circuit Court on June 10, 2026, the court granted each of the accused persons bail in the sum of GH¢70,000 with one surety.

The court also issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a fourth suspect who failed to appear before the court.

Despite being granted bail, the three accused persons are yet to satisfy the bail conditions and remain unable to secure their release.

In a dramatic twist, the founder of Amagashie Herbal Clinic, Apostle Dr. Samuel Amagashie, announced his intention to withdraw the case after mediation by chiefs from Asante Mampong.

According to him, he decided to forgive the accused following appeals by the traditional leaders, choosing reconciliation over prolonged litigation.

Speaking to Adom News, Apostle Dr. Amagashie explained that his decision was influenced by the intervention of the chiefs and his belief in forgiveness, despite the significant financial loss allegedly suffered by the clinic.

Meanwhile, Nana Osei Bonsu, Chief Linguist to the Asante Mampong Atomfohene, who led the mediation efforts, urged Ghanaian workers, particularly the youth, to uphold honesty, integrity and accountability in their workplaces.

He stressed that trust remains one of the most valuable assets in any organisation and called on employees to avoid acts that could destroy the confidence reposed in them by their employers.

Although the complainant has expressed his willingness to discontinue the matter, the case remains before the court, where the appropriate legal processes are expected to determine the next course of action.
