The Western North Regional Police Command says it has gathered sufficient information to commence investigations into the shooting incident at Sefwi Sayerano in the Juaboso District, which claimed three lives and left two others injured.
The Regional Police Commander, DCOP Dr. Francis Tsidi, made the disclosure when he led a delegation to the community to assess the situation and engage with the bereaved families, injured victims and community leaders.
During the visit, DCOP Dr. Tsidi expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and sympathised with those injured, assuring them that the Ghana Police Service would conduct a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.
Addressing residents, the Regional Commander said the Police had obtained enough information to begin investigations and pledged that every aspect of the incident would be examined through a fair and professional process.
“We have enough pieces of information to begin investigations,” he said, assuring the community that the Police would work diligently to establish the facts surrounding the shooting.
The Juaboso District Chief Executive, Alexander Adu Quist, also assured residents that the district assembly would continue to work closely with the Police and community leaders to help restore calm and find a lasting solution to the situation.
The Mmratehene of Sayerano, Kwaku Kaya, appealed to the youth to remain calm and cooperate with the Police as investigations continue.
The Police have urged the public to allow the investigative process to proceed without interference as efforts continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
