Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has received a hero’s welcome from fans after returning home from an impressive World Cup campaign.

The shot-stopper touched down at the airport on Sunday afternoon, where he was greeted by excited Ghanaians who gathered to celebrate his exploits on the international stage.

Despite arriving alone, Asare received loud cheers and warm shoutouts from fans who praised his performances and contribution during Ghana’s World Cup journey.

The celebrations continued after he left the airport, as the goalkeeper headed to Tema to enjoy a bowl of fufu, only to be mobbed by enthusiastic fans who wanted to catch a glimpse of the national team star.

In a beautiful coincidence, Asare’s return to Ghana coincided with his birthday, giving supporters another reason to celebrate him.

Messages of goodwill poured in from Ghanaians, with his club Hearts of Oak also joining in to wish him well.

The goalkeeper’s impressive run at the World Cup earned him admiration from football fans, who have continued to applaud his confidence, composure and performances between the posts.
