Management of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has procured and officially handed over a fleet of new vehicles to enhance operational efficiency and improve day-to-day activities at the refinery.

The fleet comprises eight brand-new Mitsubishi vehicles, three Toyota Coaster buses, two industrial forklifts, and other essential operational vehicles to support logistics across the facility.

The acquisition comes at a critical time, as the refinery has faced severe logistical challenges for several years. TOR last received significant logistical support in 2013, and the prolonged absence of operational vehicles has adversely affected productivity and slowed overall progress.

The Board Chairman, Hon. Nayon Bilijo, officially commissioned the fleet and authorised their immediate deployment for official and operational use. Management explained that the vehicles were procured using the refinery’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF) generated in 2025 under the current administration.

Management also expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama and the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, for their continued support, policy direction, and commitment to the revitalisation of the refinery.

Additionally, the refinery’s leadership commended staff for their resilience, dedication, and sustained support, noting that workforce commitment remains central to TOR’s recovery and long-term sustainability.
