The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man accused of orchestrating a false-news campaign against a respected traditional leader.
In a statement issued on Thursday, November 20, the Police confirmed that suspect Samuel Amadotor was picked up with support from the National Signals Bureau (NSB).
The arrest followed a complaint by Okatakye Boakye Danquah Ababio I, who alleged that the suspect had circulated fabricated and harmful claims about him.
According to investigators, Amadotor admitted to the act during questioning and claimed he was hired by one Chairman Michael Yeboah to publish the false material.
Police said Yeboah has since gone into hiding and is being pursued as part of what they believe may be a coordinated smear campaign.
Amadotor is currently in custody and is expected to be arraigned on Friday, November 21, 2025, as investigations continue.
