Kotoko captain Samba O’Neil apologizes to fans after humiliating defeat to Wydad AC

-

Asante Kotoko captain Samba O’Neil has issued a heartfelt apology to the club’s supporters following their disappointing exit from the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors’ continental campaign came to a painful end after suffering a 6–1 aggregate defeat to Wydad Athletic Club.

Kotoko lost the first leg 1–0 at the Accra Sports Stadium before enduring a heavy 5–1 defeat in the return fixture in Casablanca.

Reflecting on the team’s early elimination, the Congolese defender expressed remorse and pledged a renewed focus on domestic success.

“It is difficult to take, but we apologise to our fans,” he said.

“We need to keep our heads up and win both the league and the FA Cup to compensate for this loss,” the Congolese defender added.

With their continental hopes dashed, Asante Kotoko will now shift their full attention to the Ghana Premier League, where they aim to bounce back stronger and compete for silverware.
