Ghana international Tariq Lamptey has committed his future to Brighton & Hove Albion by signing a one-year contract extension, the club has confirmed.
The 24-year-old right-back, who originally joined Brighton from Chelsea, had been out of contract this summer, leaving fans uncertain about his next move.
Lamptey brings valuable pace, skill, and tactical versatility to the Seagulls, particularly excelling in a wing-back role on the right flank.
Brighton’s official announcement stated: “Defender Tariq Lamptey has agreed a one-year contract extension with Albion. The 24-year-old Ghana international made his Albion debut in 2020 and has made 122 appearances for the club, scoring five goals and providing 12 assists.”
During the 2024/25 season, Lamptey played 20 games across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
After switching his international allegiance from England to Ghana in 2022, Lamptey has earned eight caps representing the Black Stars.
His contract renewal is a positive sign for Brighton as they gear up for the new season under manager Fabian Hürzeler, aiming to build on their recent strong performances.
