A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West Constituency is of the view that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has no business interfering in the tussle between the Economic Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and the Auditor-General.
According to Benjamin Ayeh, the NDC’s interference will give the Auditor-General, Mr Daniel Domelovo a certain partisan party colour which is not right.
“The NDC has no business interfering in EOCO and Domelovo’s tussle looking at the time Mr Domelovo was appointed about two weeks before NDC went out of power. So if they just jump to his defence, what do they want us to think?” he quizzed.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam show, Mr Ayeh urged the NDC not to act as spokesperson for the Auditor-General.
“We must allow the law to work because the audit service is like a ‘who watches the watchman situation’ but as someone who supervises government’s public purse, it doesn’t mean you are above the law,” he said.

Mr Ayeh urged Mr Domelevo to tone down on how fast he goes to the media concerning issues.
‘This Auditor-General has done nothing unique which no audit service has done before but the only thing is that he is media friendly and quick to come to the media but he should be able to weigh and balance his media interaction,” he said.
