Godwin Ako Gunn

Deputy Communication Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Godwin Ako Gunn, has urged aspirants and members of the party not to allow campaigns to divide them, ahead of the parliamentary elections in the six newly created regions.

Mr Gunn has urged the party’s supporters to remember that their main battle is with the elephant (NPP) and not among themselves.

In a statement signed by him, Mr Gun congratulated the aspirants and wished them well ahead of the election, urging them to remain united and focused because nothing could break NDC as a party.

“Comrades, with this euphoria to push your ambitions further, let’s be careful not to elbow ourselves along this journey. Your work will never be in vain; this will be our last internal elections before we face the elephant. It is well with us,” the statement read in part.

“Let us not give them a loaded gun to turn on us. Most political watchers know the NPP is on its way out, let the consistency in our communication not be diluted. We at the communication department cannot gag you in your interviews, but we are pleading that we go through this phase in the most organised and serene manner exemplary of social democrats,” he urged.

He congratulated the communications arm of the party, saying “our communication officers, communication team, headed by Comrade Sammy Gyamfi have been doing extremely well.”

“The elephants are unhappy; they have their backs to the wall with no breathing space. My humble appeal to all aspirants is to be mindful of the interviews they grant, and the mischievous media houses that will try to hit heads together to generate controversies that will not ensure to our benefit.”

“In case of an assistance, kindly reach out to the communication department and we will be readily available to assist you,” he assured.
