The Ghana Swimming Association (GSA) has secured a funding allocation of $25,000 from World Aquatics under the World Aquatics Support Programme for 2026.

The grant is a recognition of the association’s sustained efforts to develop and promote aquatic sports across Ghana, with a strong focus on both athlete progression and institutional strengthening.

According to the GSA, the funding will be channelled into a series of strategic initiatives scheduled throughout the 2026 calendar year. These include a water polo workshop aimed at building coaching capacity, as well as programmes designed to enhance federation management and governance.

Additionally, part of the allocation will support anti-doping education, reinforcing the association’s commitment to clean sport, while also facilitating Ghana’s participation in continental championships and regional competitions.

The GSA expressed appreciation to World Aquatics for the continued partnership, describing the support as vital to the advancement of swimming and related disciplines in the country.

The association further assured stakeholders of its commitment to the prudent and transparent use of the funds, as it works to strengthen the overall ecosystem of aquatic sports nationwide.
