The National Democratic Congress constituency chairman for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Bismark Ayitey, has disclosed that his party will contest in the up-coming by-elections in the constituency.

Following the death of the Member of Parliament of the area, Mr Emmanuel Kyeremateng Ayarko on November 21, 2018, it has become necessary that the Electoral Commission (EC) conducts a by-election to fill the vacant seat.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen Monday, Mr Ayitey said the contest should not be left for the NPP but for all parties who are willing to contest.

“The NDC is surely going to contest the elections and we are going to win because the reality is that, this election won’t favour the NPP,” he said.

He condemned the disagreements in the NPP as to who becomes the next MP for their party.

“The NPP should not be quarrelling over who occupies the seat when the late MP is even yet to be buried. The NPP is acting as if they don’t even care about the dead man,” he added.

He noted that the election was not about sympathy vote but about economic hardships and the moral issues of the country that needs to be addressed.
