Minister for Inner City and Zongo Development, Hon. Alhaji Sadiq Abubakar Boniface, has opined that he will collaborate with the Sports Ministry to construct sporting facilities that will impact the lives of the youth in Zongo Communities.
Mr Abubakar, former Member of Parliament for East Gonja and Minister under Kufuor’s administration won the 2016 parliamentary elections for Madina Constituency on the ticket of the NPP.
According to the Member of Parliament, his ministry will embark on this agenda as part of its development module for the Zongo communities and inner cities.
“As a ministry, we plan to use sports to impact the lives of many Zongo youth. Therefore, I will collaborate with the sports ministry to provide facilities that will ensure sports development in these Communities”, the sector minister disclosed in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.
“Sports can strongly impact the lives of many youth and also help prevent violence. Many sports development programs exist that are successful in touching the lives of young people before they go down the road of crime, however, for now, I will focus on football, boxing and basket ball”, he added.
