Isaac Asiamah, Minister for Youth and Sports

Isaac Kwame Asiamah, the Minister
for Youth and Sports, has commended traditional rulers in Ghana for their
enormous contribution to sports in the country.

According to him, these kings and chiefs in Ghana, due to their spiritual abilities, are able to make everything a success when they take part in it.

“You are the spiritual embodiment
of our people, therefore whatever you take part in succeeds, that is why as our
chiefs and kings, we are urging you to support sports in this country, become
the pivot of sports development in this country and when you do that, we can
use sports as a major tool for job creation for the young people,” he said.

Mr Asiamah was speaking at
the 44th Sports Writers Association of Ghana Awards night on
Saturday in Accra.

The Minister congratulated the likes of Togbe Afede XIV, the paramount chief of Asogli state, who doubles as Hearts of Oak Board Chairman.

The Minister also commended His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, ruler of Ashanti Kingdom and the Life Patron of Asante Kotoko and Nana Kobina Nketsia V, Omanhene of Essikado (British Sekondi) Traditional Area, and life Chief Patron of Sekondi eleven wise.

Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, the Paramount Chief of Dormaa Traditional Area and the owner and bankroller of Aduana Stars FC was also commended by the Minister.
