Ghana international Brandon Thomas-Asante delivered a standout performance on Sunday, finding the net as Coventry City cruised to a 3-1 victory over Wrexham A.F.C. to clinch the English Championship title.
The striker was handed a starting role for the decisive Matchday 45 clash at the Coventry Building Society Arena, with the hosts already assured of promotion to the Premier League ahead of next season.
Despite having little at stake, Coventry approached the contest with urgency and quickly asserted control.
Their dominance paid off in the 19th minute when a superb move down the flank by Ephron Mason-Clark carved open the Wrexham defence.
His pinpoint cross to the far post was met by Thomas-Asante, who timed his run to perfection before calmly slotting home.
Wrexham, still battling for a playoff spot, responded swiftly. Their pressure yielded results six minutes later as Oliver Rathbone struck to restore parity, sending the sides into the break level.
After the restart, Coventry regained their rhythm and showed greater composure in the closing stages.
With the game delicately poised, late strikes from Victor Torp and Mason-Clark inside the final ten minutes sealed a deserved victory and confirmed their status as champions.
Thomas-Asante’s latest contribution adds further weight to his push for a place in Ghana’s squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The forward has been instrumental throughout Coventry’s campaign, playing a central role in their successful return to the top flight.
