The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in a targeted operation aimed at dismantling a robbery network operating in Akatsi and surrounding communities.
The operation, led by the Special Operations Assistant (SOA) to the Inspector-General of Police, was launched following a series of reported robbery incidents in the area.
According to police, the first suspect, Enoch Adoglo, was arrested at Gavekope on April 21, 2026. Subsequent intelligence-led operations led officers to the outskirts of the same community, where a second suspect, Cephas Aniwaa, a blacksmith believed to be manufacturing and supplying weapons to the group, was apprehended. A third suspect, David Adzinu, was also arrested.
A search conducted on the suspects resulted in the retrieval of a cache of weapons and ammunition, including seven single-barrel rifles, five locally manufactured pistols, one revolver, and several rounds of ammunition. Police also seized mobile phones and tools believed to be used in weapon fabrication.
Further investigations have identified another suspect, Mensah Kedzi, as a key figure linked to the robbery operations, including an incident reported on April 3, 2026.
He is currently on the run, along with other accomplices identified as Akakpo, an ex-convict, and one Ageh.
Police say efforts have been intensified to apprehend the remaining suspects and ensure that all those involved are brought to justice.
