The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that passport applications that remain incomplete for two months after their initial submission will automatically be cancelled.
In a public notice issued on May 15, the Ministry explained that the directive applies to applications with outstanding issues such as pending vetting processes, missing supporting documents, incomplete biometric capture, or pending recapture procedures.
According to the Ministry, applicants whose submissions are cancelled under the new policy will be required to begin the process afresh, including making a new payment for the application.
The Ministry stressed that fees already paid for cancelled applications will not be refunded.
“Fees paid in respect of such applications are non-refundable,” the notice stated.
The Ministry therefore urged applicants to ensure they complete all required processes within the stipulated period to avoid cancellation and unnecessary financial loss.
Members of the public seeking further information have been advised to contact the Ministry’s 24-hour call centre on 0302 754200.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further reaffirmed its commitment to providing efficient and quality passport services to the public.
