The Upper West Regional Stock Director, Ali Sulemana, has been suspended following the distribution of some expired relief items to flood victims in the Northern Region through the Vice President, Dr Bawumia.

The Regional Director, Issac Seidu, has also been queried by the Director-General of NADMO.

The items which are said to be cooking oil were delivered at Mungo in the Wa municipality of the Upper East Region.

It became known a few days after the items were delivered.

Speaking at a press briefing chaired by the Director General of NADMO, Nana Agyeman Prempeh in the presence of Upper West Regional Minister, Alhassan Sulemana, alongside a team from the Food and Drugs Authority, revealed that the Regional Director of stocks has been suspended, pending investigations.

A committee led by an internal Auditor, Andrews Hayford, has been set to begin an investigation as soon as possible.

The committee has been given 14 days to present its report.
