Juliana Haruna, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Accra Regional Hospital, says the six- year-old boy who was tortured for allegedly stealing meat in soup is responding to treatment at the facility.
According to her, the boy has been given all the support he needs in his recovery process.
“The situation was very bad when they came here on Sunday but our health professionals have been able to manage the situation with the boy responding to treatment. We dress the hand every three days alongside the medication being administered,” she said.
Speaking in an interview with Adomonline’s Gershon Mortey during a visit to the facility, the PRO said the facility is committed to ensuring the minor’s full recovery.
“For now, funds to pay his bills are not our priority because all we seek to achieve is his full recovery for the hands to be restored. We feed him thrice a day at no cost,” she said.
Meanwhile, Anita Mensah, the Good Samaritan, who found the six-year-old boy in the uncompleted building, has expressed gratitude to the management of Ridge Hospital and all Ghanaians for the support to save the boy.
“The situation was very terrible when we brought him in on Sunday. He was restless and had no appetite for food but is now able to eat a ball of banku. I am very happy to see him recover so fast,” she said.
