Private legal practitioner, Dr Maurice Ampaw has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to immediately invite Ghanaian reggae dancehall artistes Livingstone Etse Satekla, known in showbiz as Stonebwoy and his archrival, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., known as Shatta Wale and counsel them.

According to him, as a President of the land, he must be interested in the affairs of the two musicians and therefore should engage them to end the feud between them to prevent a deadly escalation.

“The same way our President got to know Black Stars issues and called Asamoah Gyan, he should use the same format and must be interested in what our musicians do too since he has once invited them. They need counselling and President is the right person to give them,” he said on Accra based Okay FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.

His comments were in reaction to the gun-related incident that took place at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA’s) held on Saturday, May 18, 2019.

The 20th edition of the VGMAs nearly turned bloody when fans of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale engaged in near-fisticuffs over an award.

The confusion happened when Stonebwoy was announced as the ‘Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year.’

Meanwhile, an Accra Magistrate Court has granted bail of GH¢ 50,000.00 with one surety each to the musicians.

This was after counsel for both musicians prayed the court to grant the two self-recognizance bail.

But, Dr Ampaw expressed disappointment in the Ghana Police Service for swiftly processing Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy for court without doing proper investigations.

He said, an event of this nature, the police should have done due diligence and proper investigations before putting the two before court.
