A firefighter sustained an electrical injury while battling a major fire outbreak at Sunshine Apartment in Suhum.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), firefighters from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station, Regional Fire Station and Bunso Fire Station responded to the incident and successfully contained the blaze after more than two hours of firefighting operations.
The fire affected a 27-room apartment facility, including a conference hall and reception area.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said 12 rooms were destroyed by the fire, while 15 rooms, together with 16 adjoining rooms and nearby structures, were successfully salvaged.
During the operation, ADO Daniel Opare Ohene Akonnor reportedly sustained an electrical injury while fighting the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
