The 'Number 12’ documentary exposed rot in Ghana football

Veteran coach, J.E. Sarpong has disclosed that ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ ‘Number 12’ documentary, which exposed rot in Ghana football, has rather worsened things in the sector for the past one year.

Tiger Eye PI shook the very foundation of Ghana football where over 70 referees were caught taking bribes on tape.

The biggest headline was for then Ghana Football Association boss, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, who was filmed accepting money for favours.

But, Coach Sarpong told Adom News that though Anas had good intentions of releasing the tape, it had not improved football in any way.

According to him, problems such as hooliganism and referee taking bribes have worsened in all competitions.

Chief Executive Officer of New Edubiase FC, Abdul Salam Yakubu also added that the documentary had really destroyed the game by making a lot of people unemployed.

According to him, though there were challenges; the current situation is that a lot of talents are going waste.
