The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has commended the Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang for her contribution towards development in Ghana.
Addressing a gathering when Prof Opoku-Agyemang led a delegation on a courtesy call to the Manhyia Palace, Otumfuo praised her humility, respect, and dedication.
He highlighted the former Education Minister’s outstanding performance as the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast(UCC).
The Asantehene encouraged her to maintain these values as she campaigns with the NDC flagbearer, John Mahama, and to assist in clearly communicating their policies to Ghanaians ahead of the election.
The delegation also visited Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III, who offered prayers for Prof. Opoku Agyemang’s success on December 7.
The Asantehemaa highlighted the potential for this milestone to further advance women’s empowerment in Ghana.
For the part of Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, she expressed gratitude for the royal blessings and reiterated her commitment to the NDC’s vision for national development.
