Veteran Kumawood actor Kwadwo Kwekyre has appealed to the public for financial support as he continues to battle kidney failure.
The actor, who has been undergoing treatment, recently received a GH¢20,000 donation from the Member of Parliament for Juaben, Francis Owusu-Akyaw, to help cater for his growing medical expenses.
The donation was presented on behalf of the MP by Kumawood actress Matilda Asare, who visited the ailing actor to offer words of encouragement and support.
The financial assistance is expected to help ease the burden of Kwadwo Kwekyre’s treatment as he continues his fight against the illness.
Receiving the donation, the actor expressed gratitude to the Juaben MP for the timely intervention, describing it as a huge relief at a time when the cost of treatment has become overwhelming.
Despite the support, Kwadwo Kwekyre appealed to colleagues, fans and the general public to continue supporting him financially, noting that he still requires additional funds to cover his medical bills.
His plight has sparked renewed calls for greater support for veteran actors facing health challenges, with many industry players urging Ghanaians to rally behind the actor during his recovery.
