A heavy downpour in Tarkwa has flooded parts of the Longji International Hotel at Efuanta, forcing guests and residents to wade through rising water as the facility was partially submerged.
Videos circulating on social media show both local and foreign guests carefully making their way through knee-deep floodwaters after hours of rainfall overwhelmed the area and disrupted activities at the hotel.
The flooding affected corridors, walkways, and sections of the hotel’s compound, making movement difficult and forcing some occupants to seek safer ground within the facility.
Although no injuries or deaths have been reported, the extent of damage to property inside the hotel is yet to be determined.
The incident has once again raised concerns about persistent flooding in Tarkwa during the rainy season, with residents renewing calls for urgent improvements to drainage systems and stronger measures to reduce future risks.
Authorities are expected to assess the situation and establish what triggered the flooding, as worries grow over the recurring nature of such incidents in the area.
