A doctor at the Royal Natural Clinic, Dr. Clement Dapaalong, has urged Ghanaians to prioritize their health in 2024.

In an interview on Asempa FM Ekosii Sen’s “Beginning the Year Right series 2024”, Dr. Dapaalong said it is important to make informed choices to improve dietary habits.

“Cutting down on foods high in salt, free sugars, saturated fats, and trans-fatty acids may seem overwhelming initially, but these changes can significantly impact your well-being,” he advised.

He encouraged adding more vegetables in daily meals and adopting a balanced diet that includes whole grains, legumes, and nuts.

Dr. Dapaalong stressed that, making meaningful, small changes to daily routines and habits can have a substantial positive impact on overall health.

Dr. Dapaalong also provided insights on how to protect vital organs, particularly the heart.

“Every normal being’s heart pumps regularly. The heavier you are, the more pressure you put on your organs. Monitoring your weight is essential to avoid undue pressure on vital organs, especially the kidneys. A healthy balanced diet is crucial. Limiting glucose intake and maintaining a normal general eating habit are critical steps toward overall well-being” he explained.

Dr. Dapaalong therefore encouraged individuals to commit to small steps in changing daily routines and habits, as these adjustments can significantly benefit their health in 2024.
