Chairman of pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group, Delta Force has said that the people who stormed the KMA court in Kumasi and set free 13 persons standing trial for assaulting the Ashanti Regional security coordinator are not members of the group.

Salu Mohammad speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Friday said the persons involved in the attack are friends and sympathisers of the accused persons.

“Those who did that were not members of the Delta Force but friends of the accused persons…,” he said.

The Delta Forces are in the news for storming the KMA court and freeing accused persons.

Salu Mohammed expressed shock at the turn of events and hence apologised to the President and other leading embers of the party and the country for the action.

“Let me apologise to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the Vice President. Let me also apologise to the Ashanti regional chairman of the NPP, Chairman Wontumi, Dr Amoako Tuffuor, Sammi Awuku, and all Ghanaians for what has happened.

“I didn’t know my boys are going to put this kind of behaviour. This is not good. We are sorry. Please tell President Akufo-Addo that we are sorry. I condemn it and we apologise to all Ghanaians, the president, the court” he said.

On Thursday April 6, some members of the Delta Force stormed the Kumasi Circuit court to free 13 of their colleagues who have been charged for throwing the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator out of his office.

Thirteen of them who were linked to the attack on the Regional Security Coordinator, Mr. George Adjei had been arraigned before the court on various charges ranging from conspiracy to assault and assaulting a public officer and causing to unlawful damage

Shortly after the case was called and their pleas taken, the trial Judge, Mary Senkyiri demanded they should be remanded in prison custody until the next adjourned date which is 20th of April, 2017.

Her pronouncement drew uproar in the courtroom and before she could move back into her chamber, more members of the group were called in by some of their colleagues and started destroying property of the court.

  1. I am surprised the NDC Chairman can be brave and make comments on this as if nothing of this sort has not happened before. When the three people insulted and threatened to kill and/or rape Chief Justice and other Judges what did he say? Didn’t the then President free them from the prison.

What has happened now is sad but it should not be used to gain political popularity.

  2. Because it happened before under the NDC regime doesn’t mean the NDC chairman can’t say anything about it. In all, we are all Ghanaians and if something is senseless and useless you don’t need to be in any political party before you can criticise the act.
This is not what our president wants form the NPP. let’s stop this stupid act.
Besides how did the one speaking get to know that they are not from the force since he went to buy drug and has not watched the video. And how can you identify those members? do they have membership cards? And in what name have they registered their association under the laws of the Republic??
