Ghana’s U-17 national team, the Black Starlets, will take on Mali on Saturday in their final international friendly ahead of the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The match will be played in Mohammadia, where both teams are currently camping as part of their preparations for the continental tournament. Kick-off is scheduled for 16:00 GMT.
The encounter is expected to provide the Black Starlets with a final opportunity to sharpen their tactics, assess player fitness levels and put finishing touches to their preparations ahead of the competition.
Coach Karim Zito’s side has already played two preparatory matches against Ivory Coast’s Young Elephants during a training tour in Ivory Coast.
After suffering defeat in the first meeting, the Starlets bounced back in impressive fashion by recording a commanding 4-0 victory in the second game.
Ghana has been placed in Group D for the tournament alongside Algeria, South Africa and defending champions Senegal.
The 2026 U-17 AFCON will run from May 13 to June 2 in Morocco, with 16 nations competing for continental glory.
The tournament will also serve as the qualification route for the expanded 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup to be hosted in Qatar.
