Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of highly-rated right-back Emmanuel Sanja from Vision FC ahead of the 2026-27 Ghana Premier League season.

The 18-year-old defender signed a three-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors on Tuesday after successfully undergoing a medical examination.

Sanja arrives in Kumasi following an impressive campaign with Vision FC, where he made 25 league appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

His performances earned him five Man of the Match awards and a call-up to Ghana’s Under-23 national team, the Black Meteors.

Speaking to the club’s official website after completing the move, Sanja said joining Kotoko was an easy decision because of his strong personal ties to the club and the city.

“It was not a difficult decision to join Kotoko as it is where I am from and where I completed my senior high education. It felt like returning home after a long holiday,” he said.

“Kotoko is always an attractive club for most young players, and I am prepared to play my best football for the club that my family supports.”

The signing forms part of Kotoko’s preparations for the new season as they seek to challenge for major honours under head coach Eric Tinkler.

Kotoko will begin their 2026-27 Ghana Premier League campaign with an away fixture against newly promoted Debibi United, with Sanja expected to compete for a regular place in the squad.
