President John Dramani Mahama has made further changes to his government, reassigning some ministers and a deputy minister to new roles.
Under the changes announced on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, the Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, Dr Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, has been reassigned to the Presidency as Minister of State for Special Initiatives.
He will be replaced at the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment by Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, who previously served as Minister of State for Special Initiatives.
The changes also affect the Ministry of Defence, with Deputy Minister Ernest Brogya Genfi reassigned from the ministry to the Presidency.
Mr Genfi will serve as Presidential Advisor on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness.
The Presidency said the reassignments take immediate effect.
