FC Samartex General Manager Edmund Ackah says the club is targeting the Ghana Premier League title in the 2026/27 season.

The Timber Boys, who won the league three seasons ago, finished fifth in the 2025/26 campaign with 50 points.

With the new season set to begin in September, Ackah says the club is determined to mount a strong title challenge while also competing for honours in the GHALCA Top 4 tournament.

“The priority is to win the Ghana Premier League and do well next season, but we are also aiming to perform well in the GHALCA Top Four tournament,” he told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.

Samartex have already stepped up preparations for the new campaign, having featured in the Nsenkyire Cup.

Their attention now turns to the GHALCA Top 4 tournament, which kicks off at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The Timber Boys will begin their 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign with an away fixture against Karela United on Sunday, September 6.
