The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante Akyem North Constituency, Andy Appiah Kubi, together with the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area has made cash donations, jerseys and footballs to the youth of the constituency.

The donations were made during a soccer competition to mark the end of year Christmas festivities which brought together the youth of Oweriman, Agogo and Amantenaman to battle it out for an ultimate prize.

Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi in an interview with Adom News urged the youth to shun all forms of social vices and activities that endangers their lives and threatens social cohesion in the constituency and Ghana as a whole.

“Channel your energy into productive ventures that will help you secure a better future for yourselves and families.”

He further emphasized President Akufo- Addo’s commitment towards the development of Agogo communities.

 “Four factories under the one didtrict one factory have been allocated to the Agogo enclave which will lead to massive employment opportunities for the teeming youth in the area.

In all, 42 teams participated in the week long program which lasted from the 24th to 30th December with the climax on the 1st of January with Agogo Newtown taking home the ultimate.

The overall winner took home an amount of Ghc1000 and a trophy, with the second, Behwe/Dawereso and the third, Agogo Obuasi given GHC 500 and GHC 300 respectively and all the teams given footballs and a set of Jersey.

This was the fourth time the Honorable Member of Parliament had organized such games for his constituents since ascending to become the legislator for the area.

The sporting event was graced by notable figures such as the Head coach of Ghana Black Stars, James Kwasi Appiah, Black Stars midfielder Rabiu Mohammed, Former Kotoko captain, Ernest Papa Arko among many others.
