Ghanaian gospel musician Mz Nana has secured the Best International Collaboration award at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards USA with her song “Ahoto (Comfort)”, featuring veteran gospel artiste Obaapa Christy.
The recognition celebrates the collaboration between the two gospel musicians, which has attracted attention for its message of hope, comfort and faith.
“Ahoto (Comfort)” was among the nominees for the Best International Collaboration category at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards USA.
Meanwhile, the song competed against other notable collaborations, including “GhanaStar” by Real Kings featuring Kofi Jamar, “Wodo (Your Love)” by Gifty K featuring Piesie Esther, “Grace” by Dr. Ama Kutin featuring Chisha, and “I Will Love You” by Enoch Boateng featuring Efe Grace.
The award adds to the growing recognition of Mz Nana’s work in Ghanaian gospel music. She was also nominated in the Gospel Artiste of the Year category alongside artistes including Royal Mama, Dr. Ama Kutin, Brother Ishmael, Cee Music, Millicent Yankey, HTSongz and Herty Corgie.
Mz Nana and Obaapa Christy released “Ahoto (Comfort)” on December 24, 2025. The song was presented as a worship and inspirational piece centred on hope, reassurance, renewal and divine peace.
Nonetheless, the collaboration also brought together two generations of Ghanaian gospel music, combining Mz Nana’s contemporary approach with Obaapa Christy’s established presence in the gospel music space.
According to Mz Nana, who is also the CEO of Nayak Beauty Supply, the song’s title, Ahoto, means “Comfort”, reflecting its central message of encouragement and spiritual reassurance.
The 2026 Ghana Music Awards USA nominations were unveiled at an event held at The Octopus, Kumasi City Mall, on April 30, 2026. The awards scheme featured 35 categories, with 24 focused on US-based Ghanaian acts and 11 recognising artistes and achievements in Ghana. Organisers said the awards are intended to strengthen the connection between Ghana’s music industry and its diaspora community in the United States.
Mz Nana’s win therefore represents another milestone for Ghanaian gospel music and highlights the growing international reach of collaborations between established and emerging voices in the genre.
