Newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Women’s Organiser for the Oti Region, Olivia Yawa Aglago, has called on party members to remain united and focused as the party works towards victory in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking after her election, Ms Aglago said unity and collective effort would be crucial to strengthening the NPP’s presence across the region.
She said the new executive team was committed to rebuilding confidence in the party and making it more attractive to prospective supporters.
According to her, the immediate priority is to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, improve engagement with members and create an inclusive environment that encourages more people, particularly women and young people, to participate actively in party activities.
Ms Aglago secured a decisive victory, polling 152 of the 216 votes cast.
Her contender and incumbent Women’s Organiser, Alice Mensah, obtained 60 votes.
Expressing gratitude to delegates for the confidence reposed in her, Ms Aglago called on all party members, including those who supported her opponent, to unite behind the new leadership.
She said unity would be essential to sustaining the party’s momentum and keeping the NPP competitive in the Oti Region ahead of the 2028 elections.
