Ghana international Brandon Thomas-Asante has set his sights on making a strong statement in the Premier League after Coventry City sealed promotion by winning the 2025/26 English Championship.
Thomas-Asante was a key figure for the Blues on their path to securing Premier League qualification, making 32 appearances and scoring 13 goals with four assists.
Speaking to ESPN, the 27-year-old forward expressed his delight at reaching English football’s top flight, describing the moment as the reward for years of persistence and belief in his ability.
“They say that sometimes it takes a long time for things to happen overnight,” he said.
“It’s definitely a case of holding out and holding out, pushing, pushing. I’m grateful to God that the breakthrough has happened—to be in the Premier League now, which is where I’ve always wanted to be and believed I could be.”
Despite achieving a major career milestone, the Ghanaian international insists his ambition stretches beyond simply featuring in the top flight.
“The intention is not just to be in the Premier League,” he continued. “It’s to be at the top of the Premier League and to be the best.”
Thomas-Asante added that he sees his current platform as an opportunity to further prove himself at the highest level of the game.
“But I already have the opportunity to do that now because I get to be on the pitch at the World Cup. I want to prove that I belong at the top of world football.”
Meanwhile, Brandon Thomas-Asante also featured for the Black Stars at the 2026 World Cup, making two appearances with an assist to his name.
